Major Moscow's Assaults Disrupt Power Throughout Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's energy systems have faced escalating attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Russian missile and drone strikes have resulted in electricity outages in large parts of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were hurt while residents in eastern neighborhoods were left without electricity and dealt with problems to drinking water, per reports from local authorities.

Meanwhile, a minor was lost their life in a different Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, as reported by local officials.

Moscow has intensified attacks on energy facilities over recent weeks, while officials has requested "real steps" from partner nations to exert influence on Russia.

"What is required is not window dressing but firm measures - from the US, Europe and the Group of Seven - in delivering air defence systems and applying penalties," was stated in a public message.

Authorities reported that numerous aerial vehicles and more than 30 rockets struck Ukraine's energy infrastructure, describing such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "essential services" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Moscow was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were striving to repair systems.

A series of attacks hit electrical systems and civilian homes in Kyiv.

Regional authorities said the urban area endured intense attacks during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child lost their life and three other people were wounded.

The strikes follow evenings of bombing campaigns in the area, parts of which are occupied by Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is on alert for advanced weapon attacks, which are tougher to spot.

Authorities told the media that Moscow was purposely seeking to destroy the country's energy grid, with assaults already impacting gas facilities.

Officials stated technical personnel and officials were bracing for additional strikes.
